Happy New Year!

As this year draws to a close, receive My Peace. This is still your deepest need, and I, your Prince of Peace Long to pour Myself into your neediness. My abundance and your emptiness are a perfect match. I designed you to have no sufficiency of your own. I created you as a jar of clay, set apart for sacred use. I want you to be filled with My very Being, permeated through and through with Peace.
Thank Me for My peaceful Presence, regardless of your feelings. Whisper My Name in loving tenderness. My Peace, which lives continually in your spirit, will gradually work its way through your entire being.

This is our year to leave for Uganda. We are preparing and praying to leave in October! This means we have a very short time to gain the remaining financial and prayer partners we are in need of! Happy Birthday Samuel





Wow! Our "little man" just turned 5 years old! I don't know where time goes! He had so much fun at his birthday party. He got a "Ho-Ho" suit for his birthday (the only thing he has been wanting for like a year now). We have to pry it off of him at night, he runs around the house all sweaty refusing to take it off! He is such an awesome little man,him and Zachary both. We are so blessed and praise God so much for all He has given.

Settling in!

We are finally settling into our new home! We have just a few more things left to pick up at our old home. We love our new house, our new neighbors have already been such a blessing, helping us set up the washer and dryer, etc... The boys are loving it! There are a ton of squirrels around, and they have actually chewed through the power and cable lines out back, so the boys are now on "squirrel patrol" and having lots of fun! Thank you all for your prayers and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Nothing but Foreigners!

Well, we are preparing to leave our house soon! We knew this day would come when we decided to become full time missionaries. I admit, at first, my heart was a little heavy. Josh and I have been married over 11 years now and this is the only home we have ever owned. This is the only home our boys have ever known. They have spongebob on their bedroom walls mommy and daddy spent 2 nights painting for them. However, God has opened my eyes so much to His will in our lives and as I write this tonight, I feel so blessed. Sometimes it hurts, we are sad, we cry, etc... but God is so mighty and loves us so very much. He know us by our name, he places every tear in His mighty hands. As I read in Luke 10, Jesus required much of his disciples! This "house" is not my home. America is not my home, Africa is not my home. When I gave my heart to Jesus, my home became Heaven. I am nothing but a foreigner here! God truely showed me that today. We are so blessed, no matter where we are my family is happy and blessed and together and I praise God for that. We have so much work to do for God, earth is only temporary, my real home was purchased long ago, it was paid in full, bought by the blood of the Lamb and one day we will have a wonderful homecoming! Until then we are looking for a rental home until next summer, when we leave for Uganda! The boys are having fun looking for potential houses. They are very quick to give us the thumbs up or down! Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to look for a rental and prepare to move before the holidays! Thank you all for your continued prayers!

Home Again!






We are back home, (just in time to vote):) Thank you for your prayers. We had such a nice time in Orlando, and the boys did better than we did handling the 16 hour car ride! We went for the prefield education seminar on how to school our children in a third world country and got some great tips! But, it was such a blessing to be around other third world missionaries with young children, hear their testimonies, praises, prayer requests, etc... It's so awesome to see these young families give up everything for the Lord! Above are some pictures. We could not take the boys to Disney this time (they went last October), however, they had fun at Downtown Disney, which is absoutley free! Our hotel was beautiful, and so was the weather! It is so good to be home though! Please continue to pray as we try to build our speaking schedule back up around this busy holiday time! We are also preparing for our first ministry newsletter to go out, and preparing an email version of it! We're Here!

Thank you so much for your prayers, we arrived in Orlando safe and sound (and very, very tired) last night. We have a beautiful suite just like an apartment! There is a living room, dining area, separate bed room! When we unpacked we found a nice big "Orlando Style" roach waiting for us in the closet :) The boys are excited, now they have a new friend to play with!!

Hitting the Road :)

We just found out a few days ago, we are hitting the road! We are going to be traveling to Orlando for some child education seminars all of next week! These seminars are for parents of children who will get their education in a third world country! We are very excited to be around fellow believers, other missionaries, and other parents who have/and are schooling their children in other countries from all around the world! We are speaking in Lucasville Sunday morning, Springfield Sunday night, then driving through the night the 16 hours to reach Orlando by Monday! (flying was just not really in the budget right now:)! We would appreciate your prayers throughout the week. The boys are excited to hit all the Disney shops down that way, and thank you so much to the mamaw's and papaw's who so generously gave, so the boys would enjoy their last trip to Disney before heading to Uganda next summer! We love you!

More Encouragement!


Remember me saying, "God always sends someone along to encourage us at just the right time"! Well, He did it again! The other day, I admit, I was feeling a little blue. Does anybody really pray for us, pray for the ministry, etc.. It was just a normal day, I took the boys to Drug Mart to rent them a video, like we do every week! We have gone there weekly for about 4 years, so I have gotten to know the cashiers and they are such nice ladies, they too have gotten to know the boys and that kind of thing. So a couple of months ago I gave one of the newer ladies one of our prayer cards. So when we were there the other day, me in my "blue mood" the newer cashier said "Hey! Your the missionary family I have been thinking about"! I said yes, were missionaries. She continued to tell me "yeah, to Uganda right"? She had actually went home, learned about Uganda, knew about Kampala, the needs those people have and everything. She even read about these 4 foot lily pads in Lake Victoria that the boys might enjoy! I could not believe it! She not only remembed, but cared enough to learn about the place we are so desperately seeking, and then to just go a little further, the other cashier standing there beside of her, walked to the side of the register, and pulled out the prayer card I had given her a month ago! They have kept it right there and think of us often! WOW! God is so good and His love never ceases to amaze me. I think God so much for the little relationships that we build everyday without even knowing it. It makes me want to continue to challenge my self and be even more of a light to every single person I come in contact with. Even when we are not watching, not really thinking about things, God is!

Homeland Ministry Assignment!

Please pray for our family as we continue on our homeland ministry assignment. We have such a large amount of money to raise before we can leave for Uganda! I know EVERYTHING is in our Lord's most perfect timing and is out of my control, however the earthly part of me sees the struggles and difficulties we must face to get where He wants us to be! We need to sell our home, three vehicles, etc.. etc... and continue to raise our funding. It seems when it gets to be the roughest the Lord always sends someone along to encourage us. We got a phone call Friday morning from another WGM missionary that is actually serving in Uganda right now! How encouraging and what a blessing that he took time from his busy schedule and family to give us a call! We have been so blessed with our speaking schedule. We are staying very, very busy on the weekends traveling to different churches who are gracious enough to have us in and they have all been so wonderful! The people that we have met along the way have been a true blessing to us and we would like to thank them all!
Most precious God, I pray your very words over the worries of our minds. You have promised to not let our hearts be troubled, if we will just cast our cares on you. Based on your words, I pray that all worry will flee from us and our joy will return to us two fold! In Jesus Holy name...Amen
You will keep us in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because we trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in yah, the Lord is everlasting strength. -Isaiah 26:3

I also want to thank God for our amazing boys! What little troopers we have! Sam is becoming more and more bold for the Lord. He is now helping pass out our prayer cards, setting the table up, etc... He has always been so shy and I found a scripture on being bold and having courage in God. This is exactly what he is doing! GO SAMMY! I love when God answers our simplest prayers, yet reveals them in the most mighty of ways! Little is much........

Update!

Alana called the other day to thank everyone for their prayers. The ultra sound went great and the doctors got all the pictures they needed of their healthy, beautiful baby girl! Praise the Lord!

Prayer Request!

Please pray for our dear friends Scott and Alana. They are expecting their very first child! After Alana's ultrasound, the doctor called her back to rescan the baby's heart and bladder. Of course, this would make one worry, however, we know God is in control! This little girl is already blessed in her momma's womb, and is fearfully and wonderfully made! Just as God's word says! They go back on October 2nd for the other ultra sound. Please pray for peace of mind for them both as we stand on God's promises with them!

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works. and that my soul knoweth right well

Lord, we know you have placed this specific life inside of Alana for a purpose. I pray that this child recognizes the voice of her Savior and that she is already fearfully and wonderfully made! We thank you already for the good report that the doctor will give on the 2nd of October. We know worry is not of you Lord, give our human minds and hearts a peace that only you can bring. Thank you for your presence and protection in Scott and Alana's lives and for their new baby girl. In Jesus Name...Amen

Please pray!

Please pray for us today. My cousin, Ginny gave birth Wednesday to her second child. The baby was still born. She found out at her doctors appointment on Tuesday. She was going for an ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby, and found out the baby had passed a few weeks ago. Today is the grave side ceremony. Ginny and her husband Matt were able to hold Baby Cheadle in their arms give him hugs and kisses. Today our hearts are very heavy for them. Please pray for this family that God' physical arms will come around them on this difficult day. Please pray for Josh as he will be overseeing the services.

The world may never notice if a flower doesn't bloom,

Trust Me!

A few years ago, Josh bought me the most beautiful book. It is a devotional book and even after a few years, it touches my heart daily. We tease each other, because it never gets old. It seems though it was written just for me! (or I like to pretend that anyways :) I feel like it is so easy to let the world get to us. We get so wrapped up in our problems from day to day. We get hurt by others, hurt by situations. Some things seem so out of our control and you know what?? They are. I have found the most amazing joy and peace through Christ recently, one like I have never known. When you stand before God and give him yourself, your whole heart, your whole life, nothing, I mean nothing can shake that! No matter what is going on around you, what ever circumstance, what ever relationship, what ever the situation, please just give it to God. Not just a piece of it, all of it, all of you! Nothing is too mighty for him! We are over comers, conquers through him. When we stand before him, we hide nothing, he sees and knows all. He knows are needs before we even ask, he sees every tear we have cried. When you feel like no one cares and you are alone. You are not. He holds every tear in his powerful hands. Trust those hands, hold tight and NEVER give up! Now that I have shared my heart with you today, here is the devotion from that little book Josh got me, I pray it touches you, encourages you to look up some scripture and know nothing is an accident! You are exactly where you need to be today!

Trust Me in the midst of a messy day. Your inner calm- your Peace in My Presence- need not be shaken by what is going on around you. Though you live in this temporal world, you innermost being is rooted and grounded in eternity. When you start to feel stressed, detach yourself from the disturbances around you. Instead of desperately striving to maintain order and control in you little world, relax and remember that circumstances cannot touch My Peace! Seek My Face, and I will share My mind with you, opening your eyes to see things from My perspective. DO NOT LET YOU HEART BE TROUBLED, and do not be afraid. The Peace I give is more than sufficient for you!

Another offer!

Please pray for us as we continue to try and sell our home. We have another offer now and are praying this is the right family. We have actually met them and they are very excited to come live here. We had another offer a couple of weeks ago, and were even in contract with a closing date set, and at the last minute the family broke contract. We know everything is in Gods timing. We met a very special person while in contact that we were going to rent from until we leave for Uganda. And we knew God put her in our path for a reason. So please continue to pray for us as we wait patiently on our Lord's perfect will!

Homeland Ministry Assignment!

Well, we have officially started our homeland ministry assignment (HMA). We are in the process of developing a team of friends and supporters who will pray for us and help out financially. We are currently making appointments at churches and with friends to share our testimonies and needs for the field of Uganda. Uganda Video

To the right we've posted a video of where we will be in Uganda. The man in the video is Jonathon Mayo, who is our field director and mentor. The others in the video are some missionaries we will be ministering with in Kampala. It's a great video, and a vision for Uganda we are proud to be a part of!

Zachary!


Please pray for our "little Man", he is very under the weather. Zach has been sick for three days now and running a very high fever. He is spending his days on the couch and unable to eat or drink very much. The pediatrician said he has croup, which he has had before, but never this bad! His Papaw May made him a little prayer cloth that he is wearing pinned to his shirt. Please pray he will wake up in the morning, fever gone, cough gone and ready to take on the day!

For Sale!


Well, we've prayed about it and we are selling our home! We are hoping to find a home to rent a little smaller so we can save some money to pay things off before we leave for Uganda. Our house will be on the "market" for a little over 90 days. We ask that you will be with us in prayer that we will do what God will have us do. If it is His will for us to sell our home, God will open the doors to the perfect rental home for our family in our price range to help us meet our financial needs before we head to Africa. We are very excited and feel this is our first step in fulfilling God's will in our lives! As you know the market for buying/selling homes right now is very poor. In our small neighborhood alone, there are 2 foreclosures, 2 lease to own options, and one rental. But as His word says: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26 His word also says: And everyone that has forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matthew 20:29. Thank you for your prayers!

WGM Prayer Requests

We get a few special prayer requests sometimes from World Gospel Mission and we got one a couple days ago asking us to pray for this family of missionaries that are serving in Bolivia. This is the email we received from them today. Please continue to pray for this family. They have an amazing faith in our Lord.

"Our beautiful blond Baby Marian Barbara is nestled in the arms of Jesus this morning. She went to be with Him while Mommy was still in labor last night. Both sets of grandparents, the pastors, and Marian’s family got to hold her. She looked so pretty in the little dress and bonnet her Mommy had made for her. She was 3 lbs. 4 oz. and 14 inches long. Ron said they’ve seen the hand of the Lord through the entire process!

Let’s thank the Lord for answering our prayers. Yesterday, when the doctor began the procedure to manipulate the baby out of the breech position, he stopped, called for a sonogram, and found Baby Marian already in perfect position. A direct answer to our prayers! He protected Ruth through labor which was induced yesterday at 3 PM and ended at 9:38 PM. He brought honor to His name through Thad and Ruth’s faithfulness and dedication to live out what they believe. He continues to bring honor to Himself as we rejoice at the testimony of the sense of His presence throughout these past months. He is God and His ways our perfect even though we do not always understand them."

Hello everyone. Just a couple of prayer requests that we had: Wanda will be going for a CAT scan on Friday to rule out a tumor that the Doctors feel my be behind her eyes. This may be the reason for her frequent eye infections and decreased vision. We all gathered with her Easter (my family and David) and had prayer with her. We are looking to hear a good report. Wanda is very claustrophobic and has never liked these tests. The nurse also called me today and said she is running a low grade temperature and we need to keep an eye on her that she does not develop pneumonia. My dad will also be going in for a procedure mid April where he will need to be put to sleep again and reevaluated. We are praying he is healed as well. We know God can make every situation a positive one and we will be excited to share the healing power of Christ when these doctors come back with the good reports wondering who preformed these miracle healings!
Come to me, and rest in my loving Presence. You know that this day will bring difficulties, and you are trying to think your way through those trials. As you anticipate what is ahead of you, you forget that I am with you, now and always. Rehearsing your troubles results in experiencing them many times, where as you are meant to go through them only when they actually occur. Do not multiply your suffering in theis way! Instead, come to Me, and relax in My Peace. I will strengthen you and prepare you for this day transforming your feaar into confident trust.

In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in My Presence, where you are complete. Take time to bask in the Light of My Love. As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into My care.

Egg huntin' with mamaw!





The boys had fun on Saturday with Mamaw at her center. They hunted candy filled Easter eggs, played with the Easter bunny, then got to enjoy punch with Meemaw and Peepaw who made a suprize visit also. Please continue to keep Wanda in your prayers. God Bless to all and have a joyus Easter!

Uganda, Here We Come!


We are so excited and proud to announce that World Gospel Mission has approved us for missionary work in Uganda. Josh and I will be serving as youth leaders at the African Gospel Church and I will also be helping with community nursing. We thank you so much for your support and prayers. We will be starting our education and Bible training at this time and will travel back to Indiana in July (to WGM's headquarters) for further training and this will be the start of our fund raising.
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. Go He told them, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:1-2

The Blizzard of 08'


Well, at least that's what everyone is calling it here in Ohio! Would you believe it the day before we are to leave for Indiana the storm hit. We debated, debated, prayed and prayed and it seems it was too risky to put our boys on the dangerous roads and drive the 4 hours to Indiana. We were crushed. This means our Candidate Review Weekend with World Gospel Mission would be put off until July! Saturday night we were contacted by our representative there and she informed us they would put plans on hold for us and not begin until Sunday at 3pm. We felt God was clearing a way for us, we knew we needed to be there, and so that is what we did! At the last minute, Sunday morning at 5am as the boys snugly slept in their warm beds, we repacked, loaded the van, woke them up and took off! God of course cleared our way, we made it to Indiana in record time, passed over 20 other fellow travelers in ditches along the road, making sure their O.K. and praying the whole way, we finally made it! And we had so much fun. It was so nice to finally meet the people we have been e-mailing and speaking with on the phone for the last few months. World Gospel Mission was so amazing! We got to meet 2 other couples that were applying to go to Africa as well. One couple had been on a field visit to Uganda for just a couple of weeks, came home and knew God wanted to move their entire family there! It was such a blessing to hear everyones testimonies and watch God move in so many ways! We had our final interview before the committee this morning and made our way back home to Ohio, and again God cleared the roads for us! So now we wait. We are just praying World Gospel Mission (WGM) will be willing to use us as missionaries to serve in their organization in taking the gospel into Africa. They are leaning toward Uganda and this is the area we have been praying for as well! So we know God's perfect will is going to take over and make all final decisions. So we would greatly appreciate your prayers that His will is done and we will be willing to accept :) If you are fairly new to the world of blog's (like we are) I highly recommend you check out some of the other missionaries blog pages. Hello Everyone!


Yes! We are finally answering the call God placed on our lives years ago to become missionaries. We started this blog page for family, friends, and future supporters. This weekend is our big candidate review weekend with World Gospel Mission. This is the organization we are hoping to serve through in Africa or Arizona. We would appreciate your prayers for our safety and the safety of all the other missionaries that will be traveling to Indiana for this review weekend. We want to give God praise for a few specific things going on right now. The good news about our grandpa's procedure he had today and being cancer free, for the good reports from the physicians about my dad's health (and we are already thanking God for his next procedure in April) and the safe return of my mom and sister from Arizona. We give God praise for His blessings everyday, He has given so much. Please continue to pray for Josh's mom and dad as she daily struggles emotionally with her disease. She is such an amazing trooper!
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
